Known since the times of Magna Graecia and the Etruscans, pasta is one of the main products that characterizes Italian gastronomy. The first Italian shops for the professional preparation of pasta date back to the Middle Ages, as well as the creation of pasta, such as rigatoni, fusilli and bucatini, and the creation of stuffed pasta such as tortelli and ravioli.
Italy remains the world leader in both pasta production and annual consumption.
